Welcome by the GLAS Automobile Club International e.V.

Here you can experience the exciting story of an innovative small car company in Dingolfing, Germany just 60 miles north-east of Munich. In just 12 years, this company developed a complete range of products, ranging from the small Goggomobil cars, the 04-series, which won in 1965 with the 1304 TS the German Touring Car Championship, continued with the beautiful GLAS 1300 GT and 1700 GT up to the eight-cylinder GLAS 3000 V8 luxury coupe.

Brand new: The Special edition of the 1004 - 1304

Just in time for Christmas, a special edition of the GLAS Automobile Club magazine to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Glas 1004 is available.

On 98 pages you will read about the updated history, the entire racing history, how many vehicles have survived and more. The magazine contains many documentary photographs, some never before published in b/w and color. The magazine is published in German only and costs 15.00 Euros.

BMW 1600 GT in 1:18

BMW 1600 GT in 1:18 scale offered exclusively by Model Car World

BoS-Models has produced a resin miniature of the BMW 1600 GT coupe in 1:18 scale, which is available in a limited edition of 1,000 pieces exclusively from Model Car World. The attractive silhouette of the GT coupé has been reduced true to the original by the model maker and is finished in an elegant red paint job. The interior is very detailed and several photo etched parts decorate the high-quality model, which will not only delight serious collectors.

2013 soll ein Fokus auf Automobil Clubs gelegt werden. D.h. wenn sich
ein Club mit mehreren Autos anmeldet, wird ein fester Platz reserviert.
Wo sich der Club mit samt seinen Automobilen präsentieren kann.
Selbstverständlich Kostenlos. Die letzten zwei Jahre war auch BMW Classics
mit 10 Fahrzeugen aus dem BMW Museum mit dabei.

Karl Dompert verstorben

In der Nacht zum Mittwoch den 01.05.2013 verstarb der ehemalige Chefkonstrukteur der Hans GLAS GmbH im Alter von 90 Jahren.

Karl Dompert kam im Jahr 1948 zu der Hans GLAS GmbH und prägte gemeinsam mit seinem Studienfreund Andreas Glas die Entwicklung der Firma.

Ihm war es zu verdanken, dass aus einem mittelständischen Landmaschinenhersteller eine ansehliche Automobilfabrik entstanden ist, in der ca. eine halbe Million Fahrzeuge hergestellt worden sind.

Nach Übernahme der GLAS- Werke durch BMW wurde er 1968 Werkleiter in Dingolfing und baute den Standort um, so dass heute über 20.000 Menschen in dem grössten Montagewerk von BMW beschäftigt sind.
